Auto-stacking explained

Guide on how auto-stacking works

Updated this week

How does it work?

When the same store has multiple orders ready for pick-up at the same time, Stuart may assign a single courier to deliver these orders together in one multi-drop delivery. Each end-customer’s address will be a separate drop-off point on the courier’s route.

The Stuart platform checks if the combined size of the stacked orders fits in the courier’s vehicle. If the total volume exceeds the vehicle capacity or if there are no orders ready to be picked up simultaneously, the packages will be delivered individually, as usual.

Do stores need to do anything differently?

No special action is required from stores! Just keep following these best practices:

  • Select the correct package size when creating your order.

  • Label each package clearly to avoid mix-ups during handover.

  • Hand over all relevant packages to the courier as requested.

The Stuart platform will automatically manage your delivery requests efficiently and only create multi-drop deliveries when suitable.

What are the benefits?

  • Maximises courier efficiency by increasing fleet utilisation and reducing travel distances.

  • Supports sustainability goals by lowering CO2 emissions, aligning with Stuart’s commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2035.

How are multi-drop deliveries priced?

If you have questions about multi-drop pricing for your account, please contact your Stuart account manager or email us at clients.uk@stuart.com.
