Payment information and data security

Details on the secure processing and storage of your payment information when opting to retain banking data.

Updated this week

Before entering your bank card details, please read the following information on how your personal data will be processed and used.

Stuart uses Stripe, a PCI-DSS-certified payment service provider, to ensure secure online payments. PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is an international standard designed to keep your cardholder data confidential and protected during transactions.

When you create an account on the Stuart website or app and enter your card details - or choose to pay by card or direct debit - our payment page connects to Stripe in real time. Stripe collects your data and performs security checks to prevent fraud and abuse.

Your card details are never stored on Stuart’s servers. All data is securely stored on Stripe’s servers. Stripe requests authorisation from your bank and provides us with a transaction number to proceed with the authorised amount.

If you choose to save your card details by ticking the relevant box, your data will be securely stored by Stripe. This allows you to reuse the card for future orders without re-entering the information. Your details will be retained until you withdraw your consent or the card expires.

You can manage or delete saved cards from the “Payment method” section under “Credit card” in your “My Account” area. Deleted cards will no longer appear in your account or be used for future payments.

Please note: Stripe retains banking data linked to the authorisation number for the duration needed to process the payment and handle any disputes ( returns or complaints).
