  • Enter at least 5 years of address history with no gaps between addresses.

  • Add at least one UK address during this period.

6. DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Section

  • If you have a DBS profile number, enter it when prompted (this may speed up processing).

  • For each document:

    • Enter the document number (you may be asked for the last 4 digits).

    • Confirm that names match exactly with what you previously entered.

    • Ensure the expiry date is correct and matches the document.

8. Submit Your Background Check

💡 Additional Help

  • For questions about accepted documents, check Sterling’s documentation article.

  • To check your status or contact support, visit the Sterling Portal and use their FAQ or Contact Form.

🔁 Reusing Your Sterling Background Check

  • Sterling background checks are transferable between platforms.

  • If you are applying to deliver with multiple delivery platforms or companies, you do not need to complete a new check each time.

  • Just make sure:

    • Your profile details are up to date.

    • You use the same email address or reference your DBS profile number when prompted.

This can help speed up onboarding and avoid duplicate checks.
