Keeping packages safe

How should I package my goods?

Updated this week

Taking the right precautions when packaging your items helps avoid damage and ensures a smooth delivery experience.

Our top recommendations for packaging your goods safely:

  • Never use worn-out or weakened containers or boxes.

  • Always choose strong, high-quality wrapping and cushioning to protect your items.

  • Select packaging that’s sturdy and appropriate for the size, weight and fragility of your item.

  • If reusing boxes, make sure to take off any outdated shipping labels or stickers.

  • Use filler materials like bubble wrap, foam, or paper to keep items from shifting.

  • Surround delicate items with padding to absorb shocks from every direction.

  • Items like plates, glass panes or picture frames should be separated with protective inserts.

  • Use padded bags or wrap discs, tapes or other media in cushioning material.

  • Reinforce any pointed or sharp parts with thick, secure edge protection.

  • For higher-value deliveries, use heavy-duty, double-walled cardboard boxes.

  • Labels like “Fragile” or “Handle with Care” are helpful, but they don’t replace proper protective packaging.

  • Store your packaged goods in a clean, dry area while waiting for pick-up.
